URGENT: Ni John Fru Ndi Kidnapped

The chairman of the National Democratic Front was kidnapped this Saturday morning by armed men on his convoy going for the burial of  Banadzem Joseph Lukong in Bui Division in the North West Region of Cameroon.


"He was kidnapped by two armed men when he was on his way to the honorable's birthday"  by a Bui local. Even members of the SDF of the Bui Division have confirm his kidnap.

It should be noted that Banadzem is the president of the SDF members of parliament in the Cameroon's national assembly. He is also the parliamentarian of the Bui Center who died on Saturday 30th March, 2019.

For now no body has claimed the kidnap of the Chairman including other three men and his driver.

The security situation in the North West and South West of Cameroon is deplorable following the sociopolitical crisis for more than two years. Last week, the brother of the said Ni John Fru Ndi was also kidnapped in Bamenda to an unknown destination.

The North West and the South West makes up the anglophone population of the country i.e 20% of the country's population, estimated about 6 million inhabitants. They have been touched heavily by the socio-political crisis which has boiled down to an armed conflict.

Cameroon and Canada remains the two nations where English and French are the official languages.
The EU, AU and other organizations have urge the government of Cameroon to look for a lasting solution to the ongoing crisis.


Biya the current president of Cameroon has been in power for 36 years and was still the president elect during the last year's presidential elections.
